Really love the bright colours on this, though the clash of the orange and green makes my eyes hurt a bit. The orange of the background almost overpowers the foreground, which is a shame as the foreground is really crisp. The red flowers the butterfly has landed on gets lost in all the orange, but the shot is warming.
Onto the butterfly I love how sharp the angle is, and I have to say you either were very patience, had a lens with a high focal length or were extremely lucky. Butterflies are normally flighty creatures, which makes this picture even more enjoyable to look at with how you have the butterfly poised on the flower.
Nice crisp shot, the only real let down is the orange background that clashes with the green slightly.
Good point, I wondered what it was that bothered me in this photo. Maybe I'll try and tweak it sometime later.
As for the camera, it's a Canon Powershot SX10 IS... nothing fancy, but the long lens (for a compact, non SLR camera at least) certainly help a lot to get the job done (:
BTW, the background is the floor, made of a brick-like tiling and it was a very sunny day.
Once again thanks for the critique, your insights help me a lot c:
